Our Types of Nannies
Permanent/long-term nannies
Long-term permanent nannies generally work with a family on a consistent basis for three months or more either on a part-time or full-time basis. For example, having a nanny pick up and look after children after school or providing infant care whilst the parents are at work. They can either live-in with the family or live-out. This is an excellent arrangement for families who work throughout the day or are busy with other arrangements and need an extra pair of hands and support around daily family life.
Maternity nurses & night nannies
Maternity nurses/nannies are experienced and qualified specialists who work post-birth with newborns up to 24 hours a day, 5-7 days per week or part-time as required. It is possible to have a maternity nurse or night nanny who can look after your baby during the nights only. Maternity nurses provide the essential support, advice, and care to mothers and their newborns, ensuring that the settling period is a smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Typically, they will assist with routines for the baby’s feeding, sleeping patterns, nutrition and any health problems that may arise. Maternity nurses tend to live with the family to provide 24-hour care, so it is important that the family has sufficient space in their home to accommodate them.
Special needs trained nannies
Special needs nannies are trained nannies with specialised skills and qualified knowledge to work alongside your child and support their educational needs, whilst adding a genuine and significant value to the family’s entire unit. Special needs nannies hold certificates in First Aid and CPR, a Master’s in Special Education and have completed professional courses in child development, or specific disabilities.
Babysitters
Babysitters work during the evenings or throughout the night, attending to the child’s sleep routine and schedule. They can either sleep in the same room as the child/baby or leave home when the family arrives. Their main duty is supervision and assisting with getting them to bed.
Holiday nannies
Holidays nannies are locally based nannies who will provide care for you during your holiday. The holiday nanny duties include baby and childcare, shopping prior to your holiday, holiday event and activity arrangements, wedding and christening childcare, restaurant and sightseeing advice.
The nannies will play with the children in the pool or swim in the sea, take the kids out to trips and water parks, create summer art and crafts and games, teddy bear’s picnics, sea monster hunts, make dens, simple cooking and baking, visit the fairground, read books to relax, singing and dancing, shadow theatre and more.
Live-out nannies
Live-out nannies will typically work on a set schedule and number of hours, either part-time or full-time. They will come to the family’s home on specific days and at the end of the day, go back to their own home at an agreed time. This is a suitable arrangement if you require nanny assistance, but do not need someone living with you 24/7. The responsibilities of a live-out nanny include all aspects of caring for a child including play, activities, meal preparation, bathing, helping with homework and clothing needs.
Live-in nannies
Live-in nannies live within the home of the family and they will typically provide care on a full-time basis, with hours varying between 8-12 hours each day. This is a great choice if you want convenience and flexibility, and will strengthen the bond between your child and nanny. Live-in nannies have the same responsibilities as a live-out nanny but they can also prepare children for school, cook the children all meals, and perform night duties such as feeding. Families can also take the nanny on vacations and weekend trips when necessary.
