Winter is around the corner and what better way to make the most of it than with an idyllic escape to one of Greece’s best snow resorts with your little ones? Yes, you heard it right. 1.   Mt Parnassos Arachova Ski Resort

Arachova ski resort is the biggest and one of the most popular winter getaways for Athenians. It is an ideal destination for a family vacation as it’s only a two-and-a-half-hour drive away from the Greek capital, nestling at the foot of Mt. Parnassos in Viotia, Southern Greece. There are numerous activities for families in the area. Going up in the lifts (or “eggs”) from the resort’s base to the slopes can be a lot of fun. The view on the way up is breathtaking, especially when the weather is nice and sunny.

Besides the resort, there’s the relatively new ice skating rink, which your little ones may enjoy, especially at night when it’s all lit up. If you’re lucky, you might be able to participate in one of the rink’s Christmas events. If the weather permits, there is also a horse ranch near the ice skating rink. Of course, there are ski lessons available for children and parents, but if you simply seek some fun in the snow, you can opt for sleigh rides. Sip a hot chocolate at the chalet to cap off the day.
