Giota
Overview
My name is Giota, and I am from Patras. I am a native Greek speaker, fluent in English, and a qualified kindergarten teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Patras, as well as a Master’s in Educational Studies. I have also completed specialized seminars in Special Education and multilingual classroom management.
In addition, I hold certifications in First Aid, Psychological Support, Trauma-Informed Care, Behaviour Management and Effective Communication, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) awareness, and psychomotor therapeutic methods.
I have eight years of experience working as a Preschool Teacher in a Greek public Kindergarten, and three years as a Preschool Manager and Teacher in a refugee camp. For three summers, I worked as a team leader in summer camps for children aged 9–12. More recently, I have been working as a private, full-time nanny for children aged 4–8, where my duties have included engaging them in educational activities, swimming in the sea and pool, organising games, accompanying them on outdoor activities, preparing meals and snacks, supervising nap times, and providing Greek language and Mathematics lessons.
Additionally, for five consecutive years, I cared for a child from the age of one to five, working eight hours per day. During this time, I provided consistent support in daily routines, including creative activities, meal preparation, diaper changing, toilet training, and fostering social, emotional, and cognitive development. Parents have described me as responsible, organised, resourceful, adaptable, supportive, empathetic, caring, patient, and dynamic.
I am passionate about working with children and being a positive influence in their lives, inspired by their creativity and enthusiasm for learning. I enjoy storytelling, creative projects based on Greek mythology, and a wide range of educational topics. I engage children in painting, crafts, singing, dancing traditional Greek dances, cooking, and baking healthy recipes. I also enjoy playing educational games, spending time at the beach or pool, and participating in sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis, and beach volleyball.
