Kids activities in Corfu
Here there are many things that can be done with a Kids In Greece Nanny.
Inside the old town centre, at the old fortress there is the municipal library. It has a childrens’ department and there are morning activities organized for kids, like fairy tales, reading, arts and crafts etc.
There is also a private centre for children offering creative activities called “Passa Tempo” (they have a website with the timetables and the description of activities – arts and crafts, cooking, reading, yoga, music). It is located at Evgeniou Voulgareos street.
Any kinds of sports, like sailing and rowing at NAOK, tennis, horse riding (“Silvaland”- is a centre for therapeutic treatments but also horse riding for children).
Aqualand is already very well known for family fun.
There is also a place called “Κτήμα Καντόνι“, a farm where children can play with sheep, goats, horses, dogs and there is a playground there as well, together with cafes and canteens.
For older children, the well- known museum of Achilleion is a very interesting and beautiful building, where children can get familiar with some aspects of Greek mythology, enjoy the sculptures indoors and outside and take a walk in the gardens. There is a lovely souvenir shop outside Achilleion.
In the north, near Nymfes, there is a forest with waterfalls which offers the chance for a very nice day trip.
Take a trip to the lake Korission-Argyradon in the south, where some times of the year you can also see a variety of wild birds. There is also an environmental education centre there.
A trip to the island of Vidos (10 minutes by boat from Corfu Old Port) is a very good idea. The small island is full of wild hares and pheasants and at the back of the island there is a place where you can play with and feed seals. A trip with the boat “Calypso” (bottom made of glass) is also a great idea, it can take you to the platform with the seals as well.
Other boat trips set off from Paliokastritsa, giving nice tours around the caves of the west most beautiful coast of Corfu.
Apart from art and crafts, play-dough, picnics, dens, treasure hunt, water play, making sandcastles , listening to Greek music and learning a few new words, songs and dance, here are some more specific activities we suggest for children who visit Greece and the Greek islands, with a Kids In Greece Nanny.
